Our university-trained Occupational Therapists (OTs) based in Townsville use playful, strengths-based therapy that helps children feel capable, confident, and in control. We also help families understand their child’s needs and put strategies in place that make a real difference at home and school.
Our OTs will work with you to understand your child’s strengths and goals, and create a individualised therapy plan that builds towards achieving those goals. We review your child’s progress with you regularly and can update and change our goals as often as you need.
We work closely with families, teachers, and other professionals to help your child participate the best way that they can.
Our occupational therapists help children do the things that are important to them in everyday life — from getting dressed and using cutlery to staying calm and focused in the classroom.
Build practical skills like getting dressed, using cutlery, and managing personal care routines, supporting greater independence at home.
Develop strategies for staying calm, managing big emotions, and processing sensory information in a way that feels safe and comfortable.
Improve attention, concentration, and classroom participation so they can engage more confidently in learning and social activities.
We support children with fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation and sensory processing, handwriting and school skills, self-care and independence, as well as play and attention.
